Shadow Art by Tim Noble and Sue Webster – Projection Mapping

“Nihilistic Optimistic” is one of many collaboration pieces by Tim Noble and Sue Webster. This projection mapping is of an assemblage of rubbish that they have collected, creating a sculpture and pointing light to create shadows behind the sculptures. This shows creates an illusion of an identifiable portrait as they used human bodies for the shadows, connecting the sculpture with the shadows very clearly.

I found this very interesting as it grabbed my attention with the use of materials and the concept behind it. Incorporating sculpture with rubbish that is unclear and unidentifiable makes it even more interesting as the projection is very clear and easy to read. I love the connection between the rubbish and the clean background.
